Student Services

The St. Stephen's counseling service is a fully integrated facet of the school community.

Our mission is to promote, prevent and treat psychological health — in the classroom and in office meetings. Promotion and prevention services include the Health and Wellness classes we teach in both the Middle and Upper schools.

The clinical services we offer include generalized individual counseling, psycho-educational groups, and consultation services to parents, teachers and departments. All services focus on issues of academic, social, and psychological growth and development. Along with being present throughout the campus, counselors are available for appointments during the school day and for emergencies in the evenings and on weekends. All our services are provided without charge. Longer term, medication-based or specialized therapeutic services are referred to local specialists.

The St. Stephen's Health Center desires for each student with a health concern to seek assistance and establish a relationship of trust with the appropriate health professional. Students are encouraged to be candid about their health history and risk behaviors. There may be some health conditions that St. Stephen’s cannot support. In such situations, a student may be required to withdraw from St. Stephen’s.
