  • Standardized Testing

St. Stephen’s requires applicants to submit standardized testing scores.

Standardized test results are one of many factors (current and previous grades, teacher recommendations, interview, writing samples, etc.) that are considered when the admission committee evaluates an application.

St. Stephen’s accepts the SSAT and ISEE admission tests. Testing before or on January 20th will ensure that the scores are accepted for the January 20th priority application deadline.

Both the SSAT and ISEE are offering options at school sites, on a home computer and at Prometric Testing Centers. St. Stephen's is offering on-campus testing for the SSAT on December 14, 2024. SSAT has a helpful web page with instructions for each test format and also offers computer-based practice tests.

When registering for the SSAT (www.ssat.org), be sure to type St. Stephen’s Episcopal School (Austin, TX) as a score recipient. The SSAT code for St. Stephen's is 6956. The ISEE (www.iseetest.org) code for St. Stephen’s is 440315. The testing company will then release the scores to St. Stephen’s and they will be marked as received on the application checklist.

International students - Students who are applying from outside the US and have trouble arranging for testing should contact the Office of Admission to discuss individual circumstances. Students may also submit TOEFL or Duolingo scores (in addition to the required SSAT) to demonstrate English proficiency. The TOEFL code is B078.
