International Applicants

St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is home to students from many countries, states, and Austin. In our multicultural community, you will find students who excel in a challenging academic environment and faculty who provide a world-class education. All of our students are college-bound and many matriculate to the most competitive and prestigious universities. Our international students participate in our many clubs and student organizations, athletics, visual and performing arts, community service, leadership, and outdoor adventure programs.

St. Stephen’s prefers the SSAT and also accepts ISEE admission tests. Testing before or on January 20th will ensure that the scores are accepted for the January 20th priority application deadline. International students who are applying from outside the US and have trouble arranging for testing should contact the Office of Admission to discuss individual circumstances. Students may also submit TOEFL or Duolingo scores (in addition to the required SSAT) to demonstrate English proficiency.

Please take a look at our Campus Visit web page to review in-person and virtual opportunities to connect with our community.  We hope you will also review the videos on our boarding program web page

Residential Life

The Residential Life program is the heartbeat of the school.  In addition to the things you would expect (like working closely with the Director of Safety and Security, assigning rooms and managing the dorm parents) Director of Residential Life Gene Phillips schedules hundreds of weekday and weekend activities, making sure students live a life balanced through academic support, activities, and service.

Austin has consistently been ranked as one of the top places to live in the U.S. Students take advantage of the music, culture, technology, higher education, and outdoor activities that the city is known for.

International Student Services

The seven member staff in our International Office is known as one of the best. They take a personal interest in each student and engage them in activities on and off campus. The International Office communicates directly with parents, assists in all academic matters, directs a host family program (dinner and weekend visits), and plans numerous trips and other social activities on and off campus.
