Humanitarian Aid Worker Visits Middle School

Mark Kyle, a humanitarian aid worker whose recent focus has been helping Syrians in a Lebanese refugee camp, recently spoke to sixth graders about the importance of living lives of service. He told stories about the resilient children and adults he has met and become friends with through his passion for supporting refugee families. He discussed the fears of both refugees and displaced people, as well as the fears of others as they seek to understand refugee issues. He has worked with the organization Sawa for Development and Aid, inspired by the Arabic word "sawa," which means "togetherness."  He added that in his life he has learned to "break rules in a good way to do good things."
