EPIC Teammates of the Week: Luke Mabley, 8th Grade, and Keenan Hardy, 6th Grade

This week’s Middle School EPIC Teammates of the week go to two steadfast basketball players.

Eighth grader Luke Mabley was a member of the 7/8 Red Basketball Team. Mabley’s unselfish play and determination helped him to stand out from his peers. He is a selfless player and always encourages his teammates, on and off the court. When Mabley’s not playing tough defense or getting a put-back bucket off a rebound, he can be found getting water for his teammates, voluntarily keeping the scorebook for the 7/8 Girls’ Team, or defending the Spartan logo on the Clayton Gym floor! Spartan pride is in his blood! Way to go!

Keenan Hardy was a member of the 6th-grade Red Basketball Team. He proved to be a workhorse player, day in and day out; Hardy’s rebounding and hustle stats were off the charts all season long. Hardy was injured near the end of the season, but was able to play in the AIPL Championship on Feb. 26. One of his teammates was out due to injury, so Hardy was determined to help carry the team in his teammate’s absence. When asked about Hardy’s performance, Coach Octavia Sadler said, “I was getting choked up. People don’t know what they are missing if they aren’t on the court with the players. Keenan was an incredible teammate this weekend!” Congratulations!
