Spartan Spotlights: 9th-Grade Swimmers Delaney Holloran and Caroline Jones
Delaney Holloran and Caroline Jones, both 9th-grade Spartan swimmers, have been consistent performers in the pool this winter. Despite a limited swim meet schedule, Holloran and Jones have committed to early morning swim practices twice weekly, and their improvements have not gone unnoticed.
It is not always easy to make it to the pool by 6:45 a.m. for training, but Holloran and Jones have proven themselves robust morning swimmers. Coach Alisa Vereshchagin praised both student-athletes for their strong efforts this season.
“These ladies show up early every Tuesday and Thursday morning,” Vereshchagin noted. “They’re ready to do whatever the workout is — even when it is cold and dark!”
All that hard work has paid off, too. Jones recently competed in a swim meet hosted by St. Stephen’s and earned third place in both the 50-yard and 100-yard backstroke. Both are athletes to watch in the future!
