Spartans by the Numbers

When St. Stephen’s welcomed students to campus for the 2019–20 academic year, Spartans from across the country and around the world joined local day students on our campus. Every year the Admission team seeks to enroll qualified students from a wide array of socioeconomic, geographic, ethnic and religious backgrounds in support of our founders’ mission.

This year St. Stephen’s student population comprises 694 students in grades six to 12. Among the 487 students in Upper School and 207 in Middle School, 523 are day students and 171 are residential boarders.

Our domestic boarding students hail from 25 cities across Texas and 10 other states, including New York, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Kansas, New Mexico, Washington and Mississippi. International boarders and American expats joined us on campus from 19 countries: Brazil, Canada, Cayman Islands, Egypt, France, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Mexico, Peru, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Vietnam.

In further support of our founders’ belief that a St. Stephen’s education should be available to a broad spectrum of qualified students, the school has provided financial assistance to 19 percent of the student body, which supports 131 Spartans.

“The Admission team is proud of the quality of students who chose St. Stephen's this year,” said Lawrence Sampleton, associate head of school for enrollment management. “I have every confidence they will achieve great things in the classroom and the many activities they will enjoy during their time on our campus.”
