Saints Notch Second Victory in a Row Against Greenhill
The Austin Saints football team won a hard-fought battle, 16-13, against the Greenhill Hornets on Sept. 6. In a back-and-forth contest that went down to the wire, the Saints made the big plays when it mattered most. They took the lead for good on a 38-yard field goal by William Goodman with 2:54 left in the game. The Saints then made a defensive stand inside their own 20 yardline after the Hornets threatened to take the lead in the waning moments of the game.
David Houston opened the scoring in the first half on a 79-yard run down the left sideline. The Saints scored another touchdown before halftime when 9th grader John Houston connected with Patrick Wilson on a nice pass and catch.

This was the Saints' second win in a row to start the 2019 season, after they defeated the New Waverly Bulldogs, 38-35, in a high-scoring thriller on Aug. 30.
