Affinity Group Leaders "Get in the Game"
Yvonne Adams, director of equity and inclusion, recently took Upper School Affinity Group leaders to the LBJ Presidential Library for "Get in the Game: A Conversation on Sports and Social Change" with sports legends Ibtihaj Muhammad (the first American Muslim to compete in a hijab and medal in the Olympic Games) and Nate Boyer (a former Green Beret, a member of the Seattle Seahawks, and a leader in encouraging athletes to kneel during the National Anthem to show respect for the military) and others. Students learned powerful lessons about diversity and inclusion in sports.
Students will return to the library later this fall to visit the full "Get in the Game" exhibit.
