The Rev. Al Rodriguez

The Rev. Albert R. (Al) Rodriguez is an Episcopal priest in the Diocese of Texas, whose background includes serving in Anglo and Latino parishes, social services ministries, and his current activity of teaching Latino ministry competency on a national level. His Austin connection includes his 15-year tenure as rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Austin and as founding director of El Buen Samaritano Episcopal Mission. His most recent seminary position has been as the Interim Director of the Latino/Hispanic Studies program in Austin which led to being selected to be part of the consulting team of the national Office of Latino/Hispanic Ministries. His Master of Divinity is from the Seminary of the Southwest in Austin and his continued research projects have been supported by the Episcopal Church Foundation Fellows Program and the Episcopal Evangelism Society. He and his wife are former Peace Corps volunteers who served in Venezuela. While attending seminary, Fr. Al served on the staff at St. Stephen’s and as a board member.
