Towner Piano Recital

The Towner Recital was begun many years ago by Dean Towner, Dean Emeritus of St. Stephen's Episcopal School, to honor his wife, Velberta. Mrs. Towner was the founder of the Fine Arts Department at St. Stephen's. Dean worked with our faculty to create this special event and it always held a special place in his heart.

Our adjudicator this year was Dr. Scott Donald. Dr. Donald had his Carnegie Hall debut in 2010, is an active performer and has just received the Teacher of the Year Award from the Austin District Music Association.

The students who auditioned have been working on their pieces for most of the year. They have fine-tuned details, secured their memory, and polished their works to a high level. Please plan to join us on Sunday, May 7, 4-5 p.m. in the Recital Hall! Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
