Yes, our kids can solve complex math problems, write a well-organized essay, and order lunch in a second language…but can they schedule their doctor’s appointments, do their laundry, and resolve a conflict with a friend? Based on the work of Julie Lythcott-Haims How To Raise An Adult, Dr. Michelle Natinsky offers us an opportunity to provide alternative strategies that hold our teens responsible for everyday “adulting” life tasks, thereby developing in them competence and confidence for success after they leave St. Stephen’s.
