Diwali Celebration
Please join the SSES Indian community in celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights on Friday, November 9. All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the festivities!
The programming includes:
- Presentations in both Middle and Upper School chapel
- Delicious Indian fare, prepared by the talented SSES dining hall staff, served at lunch
- A unique lunch-time, classical Indian dance presentation where R.L. Stevenson’s poem, Travel will be brought to life in music, classical Hastas (hand gestures ) and Abhinaya (expressional dance). The dancers include high-school students who will first recite the poem and then give expression to it using a range of Indian classical dance styles.
