Introduction to Printmaking

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Come discover the wonderful world of printmaking! Students will gain foundational skills in a variety of printmaking methods including mono-printing, relief printing, etching, screen printing as well as combining printing with other media to make unique pieces of art.
Printmakers will create unique and original designs and learn the basics of how to use a printing press as well as how to print by hand on paper and fabric. Learn the history of printmaking from the Gutenberg Bible, to Pop Art, up to contemporary methods. With printmaking, the possibilities to create are truly endless!

On the final day of camp, artists will celebrate their work in an art exhibit and a “fashion show” modeling their screen printed t-shirts.
Camp is open to ages 11-18 and each project will be adapted to be age appropriate. Lunch and snacks will be provided daily.
The instructor, Jennie Tudor Gray ‘93, is an alumni and current faculty member at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, and has been teaching a wide variety of visual media to learners of all ages for over 15 years.
