New Middle School students are invited to an exciting evening of Fine Arts exploration! Whether you sing or play an instrument, it’s a great opportunity to try instruments, discover the full curriculum, electives and extracurricular opportunities. 

Faculty will be available to guide students on choosing a performing ensemble for course selection. Choir, band and orchestra meet during the academic day, so accurate registration is important.

Special focus will be on:

• Beginning Band (winds and percussion)
• Middle School Jazz Band
• Beginning Strings
• Middle School Orchestra
• Middle School Choir

What to expect:

• Short opening performance by Middle School ensembles
• Overview of programs from Fine Arts Chair Elizabeth Moon
• Meet-and-greet with choir, orchestra and band directors
• Hands-on instrument trials: brass, woodwind, percussion and strings

Incoming 6th and 7th grade students are required to submit a copy of their final 2025-26 report cards. Please upload a PDF of the final report card by signing into Finalsite and returning to your enrollment checklist.

Please note we are requesting the original PDF file of the report card and screenshots of grades from student portals will not be accepted. Incoming 8th grade students must request an official transcript for the 2025-26 year from their school. Your school must provide an electronic copy or mail a paper version of the most recent complete official transcript. This transcript will be added to the student’s permanent record and will be used during the college application process.

Kim Garey, Associate Head of School for Academics and Student Programs, will send course selection information to students in early June.

If your student is currently enrolled in Algebra I or a higher-level math course, we require a placement test to ensure readiness to progress to the next level. If they are currently enrolled in a first-year or higher language course and plan to proceed to level 2 or higher next year, we also require a language placement test.

Official transcripts are required for all students entering grades 9 through 12. These will be added to their permanent record and used during the college application process.

MySSES

Your primary internal portal for school life. Access the learning management system (LMS), school calendar, student schedules and the community directory all in one place. You will receive login information soon.

St. Stephen's requires all NEW students and 6-9th graders to have a physical exam. Additionally, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students participating in sports, dance, theater, or the Devil's Canyon Adventure Program (DCAP) will need a physical exam to participate. The physical exams must be dated and completed after January 1, 2026. The Health Center must receive this information in Magnus Health before your child can participate in any "preseason activities" (e.g, sports, fine arts, Spartan Preview), as well as school extracurricular activities during the 2026-27 school year." 

Bus transportation is available in a limited area of Central Austin. St. Stephen’s also offers a carpool feature. This will allow families to connect with each other and we will have more details about registration later this spring on the back to school website.
