Engineering Students Visit Briggo Labs

On Tuesday, Dec. 6, St. Stephen's engineering classes visited Briggo Labs in north Austin. Briggo makes fully automated coffee kiosks, where customers can order a customized coffee using an app, and have their coffee waiting for them when they arrive at the kiosk.

The team, led by Chas Studor (parent of Abe '16 and Ben Studor '16) and Kevin Nater (parent of Megan '13 and Gavin '16) explained the process of developing and marketing their idea.

Students learned about the mechanics and manufacture of the robotic coffee kiosk, how troubleshooting problems affects the design development, how the machines are remotely monitored and serviced, and how the company promoted themselves in a niche market.  They were led by physics and engineering instructor Danielle Horton.
