Presentations on Athletes and Nutrition

Endurance athletes want to know the types of food to eat, when to eat, and how much to eat depending on the exercise duration and type.  In general, those are the three main questions ALL of my athletes want to know.  We hope to address these concerns plus the topics listed below for the athlete talk and parent talk. For Athletes

  • Date & Time: Tuesday, February 20th from 4:15 pm to 5:15 pm for upper school athletes

  • Speaker: Sally Bowman, MEd, RDN, CSSD, LDN  

  • Topic: Focus on eating to train and perform for the endurance athlete with discussion of unintentional and intentional energy deficit and consequences, signs, and symptoms.

  • Location: Chapel
 
For Parents

  • Date & Time: Tuesday, February 20th from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm
  • Speakers: Sally Bowman, MEd, RDN, CSSD, LDN  and Maria C. Monge, MD

  • Topics:  Nutrition for endurance athletes to maintain energy balance for overall health, disordered eating signs and symptoms with a focus on intentional and unintentional energy deficit and when to see a physician.  This talk is open to parents of ALL students in the upper and lower school who are interested in these topics.  Parents are welcome to eat free from the dining hall while listening to the talk.  Please arrive early to go through the dining hall line and then take your food to the large meeting room.
