Spartans Finish Strong in Fall SPC Tournament

Three cheers for the Spartan Cross Country team for taking top honors at the fall SPC championship in Fort Worth over the weekend. The team edged out St. John's School of Houston to bring home the gold!

Crayton Carrozza won the individual title for the second year in a row. Travis Dowd was second overall. Philip Chang and Julian Baeza were named All-SPC with their top 20 finish. Ben Abikhaled was 23rd to round out our top 5. Cole McQuinn, David Allen, Jayan Nitzsche, Vijay Jhaveri, and Sloan Wittliff ran great races to complete our team of 10. In addition, Amelia Allen was named All-SPC thanks to her top-20 finish; our girls team finished 7th overall.

Spartan Field Hockey earned their best finish in program history at the fall SPC tournament with a victory over St. John's in the third-place game. St. Stephen's battled through 60 minutes of regulation, 20 minutes of overtime, and nine strokes before coming away with their second win over the Mavericks in the 2017 season. Assisted by Isabella Palmieri, Junior Siofra Murdoch scored to take the game to overtime. Senior Eloise Thompson and Juniors Riley Nichols and Siofra Murdoch each notched goals in penalty strokes, and Junior goalkeeper Margaret Savage made two clutch saves.
