Sixth Graders Lend Support to Hurricane Victims
St. Stephen's sixth graders gathered earlier this week to prepare emergency toiletry kits for people displaced by Hurricane Harvey. The effort was overseen by MS science teacher Kindy Verderber, whose students wanted to help respond to the enormity of the losses in coastal areas of Texas. Ms. Verderber, herself a Hurricane Katrina evacuee, put the creation of the simple bags in the context of the dislocation and need of people who are forced out of their homes by natural disasters.
