Boys and Girls Lacrosse Teams End Successful Seasons

The Spartan Varsity Lacrosse teams ended their seasons on May 6 at their respective state tournaments. The Girls Lacrosse team finished second in the Central Texas Division 1 District, edging out Cedar Park by one goal in the district semi-final. The Boys Lacrosse team earned a first place district finish over Westlake in the Division 2 South District. Although both teams lost their first round state games — the girls to Hockaday and the boys to Rockwell — both programs had successful seasons. In addition to the team awards, many Spartan Lacrosse players were honored with individual awards.

All Southwest Preparatory (ALL-SPC) Awards were presented to Walter Woo, Franklin Lassandro, Peyton Murphy and Ava Mouton-Johnston. In addition to the ALL-SPC honors, Woo, Lassandro, Murphy and Delia Stephens were awarded All-State Honors by the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL). Murphy received a national award; she was named an All-American. Stephens also was recognized as an Academic All-American. THSLL district honors were earned by Mouton-Johnston, Caroline Ratliff, Siofra Murdoch, Reyden Weis and Hill Atwell. Jake Hammock and Taylor Walters received District Honorable Mention Awards.

Congratulations to both programs for a great season!
