Spartan Athlete of the Week: Davis Wallin, 12th Grade

The Boys Tennis Team is off to the SPC Championship Tournament this week, and 12th grader Davis Walin has been the leading force in propelling the team forward. Wallin has started in singles since he was a 9th grader at St. Stephen’s. He is a leader and a talented tennis player. In his senior season, he is looking to close it out with a good showing at the SPC Championship.

On April 22, Wallin set the tone for the Spartans with a straight set 6-2, 6-3 win at No.1 singles.  With that momentum the team came away with a 3-2 win over Awty International that sealed a spot for the team in the SPC Championship in Houston.

“Davis has been our rock at the top of our line up for the past two years,” said Tennis Program Head Bob Haugen. “His work ethic during practice and his leadership has impacted the mindset of our program. Every team in the SPC has a solid No.1 singles player. Regardless of who we play, he always gives our team a shot at a point.”
