Spartan Athlete of the Week: Colton Conyers, 11th Grade

Colton Conyers has had himself quite the season on the track this year. As one of the fastest on the Spartan team, Conyers has shown he is a great sprinter with a lot of potential. This past weekend at the Southzone meet, Conyers broke 50 seconds in the 400 meter race for a first-place finish. He snagged third place in the 200 meter with another personal best.

Head Varsity Track Coach Paul Carroza said, “Colton is growing up in a big way. His talent and work ethic have him well on his way to his brother’s school record in the 400. We are excited to see how he races in Houston at SPC.”

Conyers and the track team are headed to the SPC meet, April 29-30, in Houston. Conyers has real potential to win a medal in both of his races and looks to compete with some of the best in Texas.
