Spartan Athlete of the Week: Louis Layton, 11th Grade

Louis Layton plays on the Spartan Boys’ Lacrosse team. This season, Layton stepped up to play goalie for the team because the returning goalie has been recovering from surgery. Not only did he do great, but he switched his position to midfield and has been lifting the team with his efforts.

 

Layton is a hard worker and is dedicated to his team. On April 1, his midfield work rate and production were extremely high, and he led the team in ground balls against Ft. Worth Country Day. 

 

“Louis is one of those players that we wish we could clone,” said Varsity Head Coach Noah Fink. “He works hard in practice and always asks what he can do better. He is a true team player and will do anything that is asked to help the team.  I am excited to see how much better Louis can get during the remainder of the season."

 

Catch the Layton and the Boys’ Lacrosse team in action on Wednesday, April 6, against Gateway Lacrosse at 5 p.m. and again on Friday, April 8, against Bowie High School at 7 p.m.
