Spartan Athlete of the Week: Logan Walker, 11th Grade

Logan Walker and the Spartan Boys’ Swim team headed to Ft. Worth on Feb. 11 to compete in the SPC Championship Meet. As one of the best swimmers in the state, the anticipation surrounding Walker’s races was exciting and suspenseful. He did not disappoint.

Walker not only won his races, but broke the SPC all-time records in the 100-meter fly and the 100-meter backstroke, beating Coby Carrozza’s previous records. He also swam the medley relay, helping his team attain a third-place finish and assisting the Boys’ Swim team place fifth overall.

“Logan had a fantastic meet at SPC,” said Athletic Director Jon McCain. “He went into his events with a goal and the confidence needed to break the SPC records in the 100-fly and 100-backstroke. He’s obviously a talented swimmer, but he was equally impressive as a strong teammate, supporting the other Spartan swimmers at the meet.”
