Spartan Athlete of the Week: Matthew Rowe, 11th Grade

Matthew Rowe has been impressive on the soccer field this season. Despite the tough start and rocky road due to game cancellations this winter, Rowe and team have fought hard and played some close games these past few weeks.

"Matt played both central defender and central midfield in two important SPC games recently,” said Head Coach Wallis Goodman. “Matt played every minute of every game and scored a goal against Kinkaid. He also sent several tough free kicks into the opponent's penalty box."

Rowe showed great resilience in the SPC conference matchups on Jan. 21 and 22. Although the Spartans did not pull out the wins, they were gritty and held off two great teams until the end of the games. Rowe and the Spartans will close out the season the first week of February.
