Coach Juliann Faucette Johnson To Be Inducted into the UT Class of 2020 Hall of Honor

St. Stephen’s Girls’ Volleyball Program Director Juliann Faucette Johnson has a big week ahead of her. In addition to preparing the Spartan Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team to take on two great competitors at home this weekend, she will be honored by her alma mater as one of The University of Texas at Austin Class of 2020 Hall of Honor inductees.

Coach Johnson’s career as a Longhorn was impressive, and her successes will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 15, and Saturday, Oct. 16, at several events on the Forty Acres. As a three-time All-American and the 2010 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, Coach Johnson built an impressive resume during her four-year career at Texas.

In addition to three-straight NCAA semifinal appearances and a championship match appearance in 2009, the Longhorns Volleyball team went 112-16 while Johnson donned the burnt orange. Read more about Coach Johnson’s impressive collegiate career at TexasSports.com

“Being inducted into the Hall of Honor is such a surreal thing for me; it’s one of my greatest accomplishments,” Coach Johnson remarked. “I hate to miss coaching my girls’ home games, but I have full confidence in them. I appreciate all the support I’ve received from our Spartan athletes, parents and athletic staff and am thankful for this amazing opportunity.”

St. Stephen’s Athletic Director Jon McCain knows how important the induction celebration is to Coach Johnson and her family. “Of course we’ll miss her in Clayton Gym this weekend, but I’m confident that she has prepared her team to play their best on Friday and Saturday,” McCain said. “Juliann’s career as a Longhorn is incredible, and it absolutely should be celebrated!”

The induction ceremony for UT’s Hall of Honor will be held on Friday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. Inductees will be honored again on Saturday, Oct. 16, during the Texas vs. Oklahoma State football game.

While their coach is being honored at UT, the St. Stephen’s Girls’ Varsity Volleyball team will take on St. John’s and Awty at home. The Spartans are currently 4-0 in Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) matches, and the squad is heading into their last three counter games at the top of the South Zone standings. For the first time in seven years, the team could earn the number one seed entering the SPC Fall Tournament.
