EPIC Teammates of the Week: 6th Graders Mary John Maebius and Stribling Scott 

This week 6th-grade basketball players voted to honor Mary John Maebius and Stribling Scott as their EPIC Teammates of the Week. In the eyes of their peers, Maebius and Scott have demonstrated the four pillars of the Middle School Athletic Creed: Excellence, Pride, Integrity and Commitment (EPIC). As expected, their coaches had a lot of positive things to say about these two Spartans!

Coach Ria Gulley complimented Maebius’ commitment to improving every day. “M.J. consistently contributes to the betterment of practice through her effort, participation and willingness to help her teammates understand concepts without hesitation,” Gulley noted. “There’s no question that Maebius’ competitive spirit elevates the level of play for her team.”

Coach Octavia Sadler praised Scott’s all-around attitude and great demeanor on the court. “Stribling possesses great basketball knowledge and maintains a high execution rate,” Sadler said. “He’s wonderfully patient with less-experienced players and is a humble young man.” 

The EPIC Teammate of the Week will honor a student who is nominated by their peers for demonstrating first-hand the four pillars in the Middle School Athletic Creed: Excellence, Pride, Integrity and Commitment (EPIC).
