Spartan Spotlight: LaDarius King, 11th Grade

LaDarius King has stepped up his game this year, and it shows on both ends of the court. He has been a steadfast leader of the Varsity Boys’ Basketball team through his consistent performance on the court, impressive workrate at practice and team-first approach to the game.

King, an 11th grader, averages 16 points, 4 assists and 2.8 steals per game, and has certainly helped the team maintain a 75 percent win percentage this season.

Coach La-Mont King is proud of LaDarius’ many contributions this winter. “L.D. enjoys playing for the Spartan team and being around his teammates,” he said.. “The coaching staff loves to see his hard work and determination in practices pay off at clutch moments in games.”

Athletics Director Jon McCain added to the praise. “L.D. has been a consistent scorer for the boys’ basketball team this year with some timely outside shooting,” McCain said. “As a point guard, he helps space the floor and gets his teammates involved in the offense.”

Each week, the athletic department and coaching staff feature Spartan athletes who stand out among their peers. Check back next week to see which student-athletes will be featured in our Sports Spotlight!
