Student Service Project Brings New Year Joy

Zoe Ehrlich, an 11th-grade student, took an innovative approach to her Upper School Service Learning Program project. She created a concert consisting of musical performances from 13 different Spartans and the St. Stephen's Sinfonietta. Plus, in keeping with the service program principle of providing for people in need, Ehrlich's project also included a food drive.

Zoe’s said her objective in making and sharing the musical recording was to “spread some joy at the beginning of 2021, since we cannot all be together in person right now.”

The Upper School Service Learning Program challenges students to internalize St. Stephen's mission and the school prayer through education, service and reflection. The annual service requirement is designed to strengthen both
the character and worldview of each student by building a foundation of service to others. The program hinges on providing service to those who typically do not have access to those services within a student's local, national or international community.
