Spartan Athletes of the Week: Ramza and King

Kudos to Gracie Ramza (10th grade) and L.D. King (10th grade) for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors!

Gracie Ramza helped the Spartan Varsity Basketball team earn a convincing 41-30 victory over Awty International School last weekend. Ramza’s energetic play, competitive drive and relentlessness on the court make her a leader on her squad. Gracie earned nine points in the conference win and has her eyes set on the next challenge. The team faces the Highlanders this weekend, and stakes are high for this final SPC battle. Should the Spartans bring home a win at St. Andrew’s on Friday evening, the team will continue on to post-season play at the SPC Championships in Dallas next week.

Similarly, L.D. King dominated the court last Friday in the team’s 68-44 win over Awty International School of Houston. Despite battling injury this season, the high-energy point guard has been a phenomenal distributor for the Spartans this winter. Even more impressive is King’s ability to sink a 3-point shot. Currently, he is shooting a remarkable 46 percent from behind the 3-point line. On Friday, King and his teammates travel across Austin to take on St. Andrew’s in their final conference game of the season, and a lot is on the line. A positive result in Friday’s match would catapult the team to the second seed entering the SPC Championships next weekend.
