Campus Celebrates Lunar New Year on Jan. 27-28

On Jan. 27-28, the St. Stephen’s campus celebrated the Lunar New Year; the Year of 4718 is the Year of the Rat. Presented by the International Program, Chinese Language Classes and Chinese Language Culture Club, this year’s celebration featured a number of activities. On Jan. 27, the school enjoyed an authentic Chinese buffet dinner, including 2020 new fortune cards with prizes and a popular chopstick contest with awards. On Jan. 28, Middle School and Upper School Chapels celebrated the Lunar New Year with traditional Chinese instruments, songs, Kung Fu and fashion, as well as Gu Zheng Duo and Dragon and Lion Dance. Upper School and Middle School lunches that day also had quizzes and prizes for Chinese history and facts.
