Athlete of the Week: Chamoun

A major shout out goes to 11th grader Ian Chamoun for earning Spartan Athlete of the Week honors! Chamoun’s commanding presence on the volleyball court last weekend helped his team remain in the top three of SPC’s South Zone as the squad prepares for the conference tournament in November.

 

Chamoun dominated the center of the court, both defensively and offensively. As a middle, his constant energy, solid blocks and ability to finish attacking plays made for two entertaining volleyball matches. While the Spartans eventually fell to Kinkaid in five games on Friday night, the team bounced back on Saturday, defeating Awty in three sets.

 

Come watch Chamoun and the Spartans this Saturday, Oct. 19, at 12 p.m. in Clayton Gym as the squad battles second place St. John’s of Houston.
