Shane Maguire

Shane Maguire joined the St. Stephen’s Soccer Academy coaching staff in 2000. A native of Ireland, Coach Maguire holds a UEFA "A" license from the Irish Football Association. From 1996 to 1999, he was the coordinator and a coach for the Irish Football Association's residential Centers of Excellence, and several of his former players are still active in Europe's top professional leagues. Coach Maguire says the Academy philosophy is pretty simple: “We try hard to give our athletes the tools they need to be successful in soccer, but not only in soccer. They have to work hard here to balance their academic and athletic commitments, and through that to get some organization and order in their lives. And those are lessons well learned.”
