Charlton Perry has worked for St. Stephen's for 20 plus years serving in many capacities as a teacher, coach, and steward of our land as a resource for education and recreation.  Currently, Charlton teaches American Studies to all 7th grade students.  The relationships he develops with the entire class help him as he coordinates the Big Bend 8th grade class trip each spring.  This epic camping adventure gives students and faculty the opportunity to experience nature and the beauty of West Texas.  In addition, he acts as the Director of Land Management, a comprehensive program to manage the undeveloped portions of campus.   He also serves as the Director the Class Land Project.  Every incoming 6th grade is given a parcel of land that they will study and steward for the duration of their seven years on campus. The first class to complete graduated in 2018 with goals that included thinning out the cedar trees. Current parcels follow the entrance road on the north side of the road.  Lastly, Charlton is the program head for DCWP.  This wilderness program gives students the opportunity to participate in non-traditional sports that emphasize the outdoors and utilize the natural hill country land that our campus enjoys.
