Tennis Academy Coach
Stephen Shields is from Austin, TX, participated in USTA junior competition for over 10 years ,and achieved top 5 rankings in both the Texas and Southern sections. Stephen began his junior career by winning the 10 and under “Little Mo” tournament, and was consistently ranked in the top 100 in the United States in every age division. Stephen trained at the Saint Stephen’s Tennis Academy and graduated from Westlake High School in 2005. Stephen went on to earn a scholarship and play varsity tennis at Texas A&M University from 2005-2008 playing mainly at the line 5 and 6 singles positions. Stephen served in the military as an Airborne Ranger for over six years from 2009-2015 and was honorably discharged. Prior to joining the Saint Stephen’s team, Stephen worked as the Head Tennis Professional at Walden on Lake Houston Golf and Country Club in Houston, TX. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Administrative Leadership and plans on pursuing a master’s degree in business administration in the future. Currently, Stephen holds a United States Tennis Association NTRP rating of 5.5 and enjoys competing and maintaining his game in order to challenge students on a daily basis. In his free time, Stephen enjoys running, watching football, and spending time with family.
