Kathy Rainey joined St. Stephen’s in 2007. She currently serves as the head athletic trainer and as a health teacher. Rainey received her undergraduate degree in 1995 from TCU in Movement Science and her master’s degree in health education in 2009 from the University of Texas. She has worked in a variety of settings including university, private and public high schools, and clinical. Her main focuses while working at St. Stephen’s have included concussion management, nutrition and hydration education, and improving the health curriculum to facilitate healthy behavior adoption related to nutrition, sexual activity, and relationships. She has worked to add healthier, enjoyable meals and snacks in the dining hall and vending machines for higher quality nutrition. Rainey is also a race director organizing a local kids triathlon. She participates in trail running, road racing, mountain and road biking and triathlons.
