Students Take on Technovation Challenge

Upper School girls launch a mobile app using Design Thinking.
Several of Educational Technology Coordinator Nicole Blandford's Upper School students are participating in the 2018 Technovation Challenge, a competition for girls that takes students through four stages of launching a mobile app startup, inspired by the principles of design thinking.

Team RunFree, which is designing an app promoting running and safety in Austin, includes Lucy Schmidt, Ingrid Villarreal, Emma Breckwoldt and Lucy Yang. Team FoodTrack, which is designing an app matching area restaurants, groceries and food donors with local food banks, includes Ava Mouton-Johnston, Lizzy Jones, Isabella Villarreal and Selina Yang.

As the team are in the early development stage of designing their app, each has developed a survey to solicit feedback on their idea. Please help them out by taking a few minutes to complete their surveys, linked below. Thank you!

FoodTrack Survey (all genders, age 18+)

Thanks also go to Physics and Engineering Teacher Danielle Horton, who is mentoring the two teams. Go, girls!
