I already sent you an email. Just to thank you for your patent manner in all discussions. Instructive.

Jim, You are a rock! Thank you for the generous and considerate spirit you bring to everything you do! I will really miss you. Mike

Jim, I really cannot imagine St. Stephen's without you, and I feel confident that you will visit. But, unlike me, I hope you'll retire successfully. You have so many gifts and occupations to enjoy. I feel privileged to have taught your children, to have known lovely Tara as well as your parents and sister. I have a vivid memory of going on a faculty retreat to your family's country home. That was the best retreat ever. I wish you, Tara, and your family the very best always. Best wishes, Jan

Jim -- Thank you for your kind spirit, generous smile and fierce belief that we all can do better, so we should. I greatly enjoyed sharing meditation space with you. Thank you for all you've done to end the violence in our world. Onward, friend!

Oh, I can still see your peaceful, smiling face reflected back at me in the side view mirror of the van as Johnny navigated Port-au-Prince chaos many years ago. It was a gift to be with you on this trip, Jim; a gift to see your smiling, peaceful face on campus all those years my boys spent there; and a gift to hear Santos play Elizabeth Cotton's Freight Train on the guitar, along with other folk gems he learned in your Theology class. I wish you all the best in this new phase, and send you a big hug as you step into this new adventure. Abrazos, Jennifer

Oh, I can still see Jim's smiling, peaceful face reflected back at me in the side mirror of the van as Johnny navigated through Port-au-Prince chaos perhaps 7 years ago. It was a gift to be on this trip with you, Jim, and to always see your smiling, peaceful face around campus all those years that my boys were at St.Stephen's. Another gift from you - to hear Santos play Elizabeth Cotton's Freight Train on the guitar, as well as other gems he learned in your Theology class. I wish you all the best, Jim, in this new phase, and send you a big hug as you venture into retirement, Jennifer

Jim - thank you for being the model of peace and peace in a wild world. Your presence on the Hill will be missed.

The time when I really knew you were blessed by God was driving through the Haitian market with yapping girls in the back and you navigating cooly and calming with literally half an inch to spare on either side of the vehicle. That and watching/listening to you play guitar under the Haitian sun will always be with me. Congrats on your retirement and good luck in the next phase of your life.

Thank you for modeling peacefulness in all you do! Your easy, steady, thoughtful presence on the hill will be missed.

Thank you for your authenticity and kind spirit. It fits our school so well.

I'm so blessed to have traveled to Haiti with you numerous times. You NEVER got flustered, even when...well... Anyway, one of my favorite memories from our travels (there are so many!) is when you and...oh I cannot remember that sweet young man's name...graduated a few years ago...this was probably 2014 or 2015? When we were standing outside the church at St. Etienne, and you two sang, "The Cape," by Guy Clark. It has since become a favorite of mine, and I always think of you...

Oh, Jim, I will always remember days of blasting across mountains in Ayiti with you at the wheel. What fun we had together, and how much richer our lives have been because of those times. And our years as neighbors? I cherished the sight of you and Tara and your children, from littlest, to little, to somewhat bigger, to fully grown. Much joy and happiness to you, Jim, in this new adventure called retirement. Knowing you, you will continue to make an impact in the world - from the Hill to the world, only in a new way. Take care, my good friend, Vicki

Wishing you and Tara a well-earned peaceful time ahead! My favorite memory somehow is the way you used to make vegan cookies for your Advisory!

Jim, It was a pleasure working with you at SSES. You embody the mind, body, spirit ethos that embues each Spartan. Your kindness and positivity added much to the boarding community while I was there, for both boarding students and faculty.
