On Friday April 7, during an extended Chapel period, we will host a special guest speaker for our 9th and 10th grade students to talk about the teen brain and risky behaviors. 
 
Who: Crystal Collier, Ph.D.
What:  "The Science of High Risk Behavior -- What Teens Need to Know"
When: Friday April, 7, 8:45 a.m. - 9:40 a.m.
This seminar, given by Dr. Crystal Collier, an engaging and experienced presenter, focuses on how high-risk behaviors affect the developing adolescent brain. The presentation is designed to help teenagers better understand techniques for preventing high-risk behavior and increasing executive functioning skills. Crystal Collier, Ph.D., LPC-S, is director of the Behavioral Health Institute at the Houston Council on Drugs and Alcohol. Her area of expertise is adolescent development. She regularly presents to schools, parents and human service agencies.
 
Dr. Collier has spoken at St. Stephen's several times, most recently at our Winter Wellness Seminar to 8th and 11th grade students and at a Parents' Association gathering. We are lucky to have her back.
