School Bus Driver (Part-Time)

St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in west Austin is seeking a part-time school bus driver to transport students to local and out-of-town athletic events and academic field trips one or two weekends per month. Routes will include trips to Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, as well as various locations in Austin. Local trips will be a minimum of four hours. This position is part time, 10-30 hours per week, with the opportunity to move to full time, if the need arises. 
 
The driver’s work schedule may change weekly, depending on the schedule of events; however, the driver will know his or her schedule at least two to three weeks in advance. During slow weeks, the driver may be asked to clean school vehicles, fill up school buses and vehicles, or drive other school vehicles, such as passenger vans or SUVs.  Regardless of assignment, all hours will be paid at the driver’s regular hourly rate.
 
Qualified candidates must have valid CDL with P and S endorsements, as well as Airbrakes. They also must have a current medical card and be able to maintain that card for the duration of employment. Candidates also must have at least one verifiable year of experience operating a school bus. Candidates must be at least 25 years old for insurance purposes and be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and drug test.
