St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 697 students (grades 6-12), is seeking an Upper School English teacher for a full-time position beginning August 2019. Candidates should have a degree in English (or a closely related field) and a minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably in grades 9-12, as well as the ability to teach several courses.
We are seeking a colleague who thrives in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is eager to create and share new curriculum and can demonstrate the ability to work as part of a cohesive team. Qualified candidates who can coach, have experience working with international students, and/or have experience working in boarding programs are encouraged to apply; however, the residential responsibility is not a required aspect of the job.
Full-Time Upper School Faculty Responsibilities:
Teaching four sections of Upper School English
Advising a group of six to eight students who meet with their advisor on a daily basis
Contributing to two other areas of school life, including athletic or extracurricular program
Attending Chapel and participating in an assigned-seating lunch program
