St. Stephen’s welcomes exceptional educators and leaders to campus for the 2026–27 school year

St. Stephen’s is pleased to welcome new faculty and staff members to campus as we kick off the 2026-27 academic year. These new employees join other exceptional faculty and staff across various departments.

Devin Clyburn joins us as an Upper School mathematics instructor. Clyburn comes to us from Dublin School, a day and boarding high school in Dublin, New Hampshire. Prior to that, he taught Middle and Upper School Math at Battle Ground Academy and Virginia Episcopal School. A graduate of The Loomis Chaffee School, Clyburn went on to earn his bachelor's degree at Bates College, where he also played football. His talents and dedication to Spartans extend beyond the classroom — he will also be coaching football and basketball. 

Julie Ann Conroy is St. Stephen’s new Middle School librarian. She brings more than 20 years of experience as a teacher and librarian, most recently serving at the International School of Kenya. Conroy holds a Master of Library and Information Science from Simmons University and a bachelor's degree from the University of La Verne. Throughout her career, she has focused on engaging heart and mind by building vibrant, student-centered library cultures. She has extensive experience working across grade levels, including serving as a Middle and Upper School librarian and student advisor. She is particularly skilled at bridging the gap between classroom curriculum and the library, ensuring that middle schoolers develop critical information fluency and research skills. A passionate advocate for creating inclusive spaces, Conroy is dedicated to building collections that reflect a wide range of identities and experiences.

Callie Enlow joins the Marketing and Communications Department as strategic communications manager. She brings more than 15 years of editorial, digital media and public relations expertise to our campus. Enlow has served as editor-in-chief and platform content lead for publications in San Antonio and Los Angeles, as well as managing editor positions at GOOD Worldwide and Arizona State University’s Zócalo Public Square. Most recently, she operated an independent communications consultancy in Austin, crafting powerful, data-informed narratives for major educational and children's arts organizations like the School Discovery Network and Magik Theatre. She holds a bachelor's degree from Scripps College and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.

Noah Fink P ’26, ’24 has transitioned into a full-time position with the St. Stephen’s Athletics Department as program director for boys varsity lacrosse and soccer and Upper School physical education coordinator. Fink has served Spartans as a seasonal coach since 2010 and brings more than 20 years of expertise in leadership, coaching and team building. He comes to this expanded role from Adrenaline Lacrosse, where he spent more than a decade serving as vice president and team sales manager. His earlier background includes teaching AP economics and history at Kirby Hall, as well as serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay. Fink earned his Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Bucknell University, where he played Division I collegiate lacrosse, and holds a master’s degree in international relations and affairs from the University of California San Diego.

Raghav Goel joins the St. Stephen’s faculty as a computer science instructor. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and a Bachelor of Arts in computer science from Denison University. Goel brings a strong technical foundation that includes software engineering internships, systems programming and a deep mastery of languages like Python, C++ and JavaScript. Most recently, he taught at Headwaters School in Austin, where he successfully blended technological platforms with a hands-on, experiential learning approach to build student confidence. Outside the classroom, Goel is an accomplished fencer who captained his university team to a Midwest Championship. We are excited to bring his programming expertise and classroom experience to our Middle and Upper School computer science curriculum.

Laura S. Harris joins our College Counseling team as associate director of 9th and 10th Grade, bringing more than two decades of experience as a college counselor for independent schools in Atlanta and college admissions counselor for Vanderbilt University. In this newly created position, Laura will focus on the foundational years for Upper School students, advising on course selection, meeting individually with each 10th grade student and curating virtual programming for families. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Vanderbilt University. Harris is a familiar face to many on campus, as she and her family are part of our residential community. We are excited to have her expert guidance for our 9th and 10th grade students as they begin their Upper School journey. 

Jared Jones, Ph.D., joins us as an Upper School theology instructor. He recently completed his doctorate in historical theology at Emory University, where he served as a lead facilitator and research expert. Along with teaching and research, Jones worked in educational technology and media at Emory and Mississippi State University. His academic journey also includes a Master of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary, where he received several high honors, including the Wilds Book Prize for academic distinction, and a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University. Jones is not only a scholar of ancient languages such as Greek, Hebrew and Latin, but also a dedicated mentor with a history of developing youth curriculum and teaching in K–12 settings. His expertise in integrating historical thought with contemporary faith will be a tremendous asset to our Upper School students.

Wilson Marks joins us as our Fine Arts guitar instructor. He is an accomplished musician and dedicated educator with nearly two decades of experience. A San Antonio native, Marks studied jazz guitar in the New Orleans area before becoming an active educator, composer and session musician in Austin. Marks comes to us from Hays CISD’s Uhland Elementary and previously developed the Middle School Guitar Program at the Austin Discovery School. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and studied within the Jazz Studies Program at the University of New Orleans. Nominated as Best Guitarist in the 2024 Austin Chronicle, Marks brings a teaching philosophy focused on active listening, songwriting and improvisation to our Fine Arts classrooms.

Louise Matherne joins us as an Upper School history instructor, bringing an impressive background in history and literature. She holds a dual master’s degree in international and world history from Columbia University and the London School of Economics, as well as a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Matherne brings extensive experience in independent and classical education, having most recently served as a high school humanities teacher and curriculum coordinator at Austin Classical School. Her previous tenure includes teaching roles at the Regents School of Austin and Trinity Valley School in Fort Worth, where she also coached cross country and track. Her global perspective is further enriched by her time teaching in China, Egypt and Morocco.

Bruce Orem joins St. Stephen’s as associate head of school for finance and operations, bringing more than 30 years of leadership experience. He previously served as chief financial officer and chief operating officer at The Spence School in New York City where Orem managed the balance sheet and investment portfolio, led major capital construction projects and taught a senior seminar on personal financial literacy. Previously, Orem served as the inaugural CFO for Albuquerque Academy, integrating finance, technology and facilities management. His background also includes executive roles in the private sector and corporate finance experience at The Chase Manhattan Bank and MediaOne Group. Orem holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in economics from Trinity College. As an Episcopal boarding school graduate, he deeply appreciates St. Stephen’s mission-driven culture and residential community.

Blayer PointduJour joins our community as database administrator. PointduJour brings more than 20 years of expertise in systems administration, including experience in independent and charter school environments like The Baldwin School and Esperanza Academy, blending technical mastery and AWS certifications with a deep understanding of the school environment. He holds a bachelor's degree from Valley Forge University. Beyond his technical work, PointduJour has a long history of community engagement as a teacher and a coach for both basketball and golf. He and his wife relocated from Philadelphia, and he is eager to dive into campus life and bring his collaborative spirit to the St. Stephen’s Technology Department.

Jackie Robertson has been appointed director of annual giving. She is a seasoned advancement and communications leader with over two decades of experience in independent schools. Most recently, she served as the director of communications for The Episcopal School of Dallas, where she partnered closely with school leadership to elevate donor participation and institutional visibility. Her career is marked by excellence, including being a two-time recipient of the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and a CASE District IV Bronze Medal for her work in capital campaigns. Robertson holds a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma City University. Her analytical approach and proven ability to build mission-centered engagement strategies will be vital as she leads the school’s annual giving program into its next phase of growth.

Andrew Stepek joins our faculty as a Middle School mathematics instructor with more than six years of experience teaching secondary mathematics and a strong focus on student mentorship and well-being. He comes to us from Cedar Creek High School, where he taught geometry and led instructional design teams. Stepek also spent six years at The Liberal Arts & Science Academy (LASA) in Austin, teaching advanced AP Calculus and developing a financial math course. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Arts in mathematics with a minor in philosophy from The University of Texas at Austin. While Stepek briefly worked in corporate finance as a Portfolio Compliance Associate for PIMCO, he returned to education to fulfill his passion for mentoring young people.

Transitions on The Hill

Liza Ayres ’14 has stepped into the role of assistant director of international programs to provide comprehensive administrative and socioemotional leadership for our global student body. In addition to managing the complex logistics of federal immigration compliance and visa processing, Ayres oversees our part-time international office assistants to ensure the department’s daily operations run smoothly. Her work focuses heavily on the student experience, as she leads the Venture Orientation Program and chairs the Cultural Festival Planning Committee. From celebrating traditions like Lunar New Year and Diwali to facilitating the Host Family Program, Ayres’ work plays a vital role in our collective effort to foster a supportive environment where every international student can thrive. 

Henry Colangelo ’18 is taking on a new role as transitional history support, international office assistant and testing coordinator. Following Mason Cox’s retirement, Colangelo will lead our Transitional History 9 and 10 classes, helping international students build core academic success strategies and study skills. Colangelo will also continue directing end-to-end administration for all SAT, ACT, AP and PSAT exams as testing coordinator. Additionally, he will provide operational support to the International Office by managing student travel logistics, maintaining academic databases, and assisting scholarship and exchange participants from Japan, Oman and Thailand. His versatility and dedication to student success remain a vital asset to our community.

Erin Rydquist has been appointed director of marketing and communications. Since arriving at St. Stephen’s, she has been a driving force behind our school’s storytelling, successfully strengthening the clarity of our schoolwide messaging. Rydquist has significantly improved how we share information, including revitalizing our e-newsletters, News and Notes, and Spartan Magazine to keep families and alumni well-informed and engaged. Her ability to capture the unique spirit of our classrooms and the daily life of the school has already made a visible impact on our campus, making her the natural successor to lead our Marketing and Communications Department into the future. In her new role, Rydquist will oversee the department’s comprehensive strategy, including all publications, digital marketing, social media and public relations. She will focus on fostering mission-aligned communication practices across all campus departments and will work in close partnership with the Admission and Advancement teams to collaborate on strategic marketing initiatives designed to support enrollment and institutional growth.
