Spartans Collect Food for 943 Meals in Thanksgiving Food Drive
The St. Stephen’s community recently held our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, benefitting the Central Texas Food Bank, to help ensure every Austin resident is food secure throughout the holiday season.
During the drive, 12th and 9th graders competed against 11th and 10th graders to see which group could collect the most donations of pantry items during the week of Nov. 8. Participants also were asked to write notes sharing holiday goodwill with local families and words of thanks to food bank volunteers.
Bradley Parham, an 11th-grade Spartan who helped organize the food drive, was excited to announce that the 11th and 10th graders won the competition. In total, they donated 523 items; 12th and 9th graders donated 483 items. Students collected a remarkable 1,132 pounds of food that will provide 943 meals to members of the Austin community.
Many thanks to all the St. Stephen’s students, parents, faculty and staff who participated in this important food drive.
