St. Stephen’s 6th graders brought their Global Connections learnings to life on Friday, March 6, during the Middle School’s annual Day of Nations parade and event.
Taught by Octavia Sadler, Global Connections is a cornerstone offering that helps students understand and appreciate a wide range of cultures. Each Middle School student spends part of the course examining the history, heritage, religion, food, clothing and art of a specific culture and then shares those learnings with others during the special morning celebration. With the help of Jeremy Sweetlamb, director of Middle School theatre, they dress in attire representing the nations they have studied.
Next up in Global Connections, they will turn their attention to the life and teachings of Gandhi.
