Spartan parent Manish Chauhan, M.D., a cardiologist from St. David's Medical Center, visited the St. Stephen’s Medical Society on Feb. 5 to share information with the student group about his surgical specialty.
In addition to talking with students about his personal journey to become a doctor, Chauhan explained a number of common cardiac procedures. A few students even had the opportunity to practice a simulated angioplasty with equipment Chauhan uses for the procedure.
Chauhan also took time to show students an app he created, CardioVisual, which helps patients understand the various treatment options available to heart patients.
“It was an inspirational presentation!” club sponsor Dean Mohlman said of the visit.
Many thanks to Chauhan for visiting with Medical Society members, as well as to his daughter, 11th grader Malika, for organizing the special program.
