Alumni Return in Record Numbers for Reunion Weekend 2019
Reunion 2019, held Sept. 27-29, was a tremendous success. The weekend kicked off with the Pioneer Spartan Dinner at the Bowen Arts Studios. The annual event recognizes alumni who graduated 50+ years ago. This year, Lou Porter Bailey '71, who previously led the school’s alumni relations and planned giving efforts, was honored for her many years of service to St. Stephen's.
Alumni also attended the Spartan Block Party, Campus Cookout and Homecoming football game vs. Trinity Valley on Friday night. The Leadership Luncheon, held on Saturday in Scanlan Gallery, recognized Spartan Society Board members, class representatives and Legacy Council members. Nancy Wilson Scanlan '59 served as the keynote speaker.
On Saturday afternoon, alumni gathered to participate in an Alumni Round Table focused on the purpose and direction of affinity groups. The afternoon provided good discussion and reflection. Saturday evening, alumni attended the annual Alumni Barbecue featuring BBQ from Stiles Switch and a special Kid Zone.
Reunion 2019 closed with a special Chapel on Sunday. Thanks to all alumni who attended the weekend events and to the Parents' Association for helping make the entire weekend so special! In the wake of this year’s record-breaking alumni attendance, the Spartan community is already looking forward to Reunion 2020!
