Financial Aid

In the 2018-2019 school year, 18 percent of the student body received a total of 3.9 million dollars in financial assistance with awards ranging from $1,880 to $58,000. These awards aided families with annual incomes ranging from below $50,000 to over $100,000.

Financial Aid Philosophy

The St. Stephen's Episcopal School Mission places great value on diversity and inclusion. We respect the potential and dignity of all people, and our program is committed to the development of the whole person - mind, body and spirit. To this end, St. Stephen’s awards need and merit-based financial assistance to students from across the socioeconomic spectrum. Financial-aid grants support our efforts to enroll a diverse and well-rounded student body from Austin, the U.S. and around the world.

Applying for Financial Aid

St. Stephen's offers need-based and merit-based financial assistance to families. As part of the financial aid application, we require the following documents.

  • Parent Financial Statement (completed online through SSS).
  • Signed previous year 1040s and all related schedules.
  • Copies of previous year W-2 and 1099 Forms.
Required documents are submitted to and processed by School and Student Services (SSS). In addition to St. Stephen's policies and budget, we use School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) as a guide when determining individual awards.

A limited number of merit scholarships are awarded to students applying for the 9th or 10th grade boarding program who reside in the United States. Application for the scholarships is available on the Application for Admission. Please review the criteria for each scholarship.
