St. Stephen's GSA Summit, Navigating Liberation, is a conference providing learning experiences and a sense of community for parents, students, and faculty involved in hosting, supporting, and/or attending GSA (Gender & Sexuality Alliance) groups at their schools or for those interested in learning more about GSAs, and how they operate at St. Stephen's and other schools in the area. This conference is a place for listening and learning how we all can continue to show up and champion LGBTQIA+ folks and create safe spaces on our campuses where all people can be their authentic selves.
We have invited Dr. Karen Rayne and Ryn Gonzales of OutYouth to be our keynote speakers for the day. You can find out more about their work with youth and their book TRANS+. We are looking forward to having students from our regional association (ISAS) and our local public school community join us.
The conference will be held on the campus of St. Stephen's Episcopal School, in Austin, Texas on Saturday, October 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. We will have sessions designed for both adults and students to participate in together.Included in the registration fee will be a t-shirt, lunch, and snacks.
