St. Stephen's Episcopal School, a day and boarding school of 697 students (grades 6-12), is seeking a School Counselor to join our dynamic team of healthcare providers; this is a full-time position available immediately.
The school counselor provides short- term, supportive counseling, referring longer term, specialized care to local clinicians. This person also will collaborate with members of the school’s full-time health team, including nurses, Middle School Counselor and Director of Counseling.
Provide counseling to a diverse, boarding and day student population.
Counsel students on mental health and healthy lifestyle choices.
Maintain electronic medical records of interventions.
Communicate frequently with parents/guardians regarding their children’s health needs.
Coordinate and collaborate with local mental health providers regarding students’ needs.
Health class teaching responsibilities.
Evening/weekend on-call responsibilities.
Holds an advanced degree in mental health care
Has an interest in adolescent health
Experience working with families
Experience in school counseling preferred
