St. Stephen’s Episcopal School is phone-free community for students during the academic day.

Upper School students lock their phones in magnetic pouches from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., removing that distraction and allowing students to focus on face-to-face interactions during the school day. In the spring of 2025, a significant majority of the 120 parents who responded to a school survey supported the idea of restricting phones, joining faculty in the belief that students will benefit from the removal of the negative effects associated with teen phone use.

Upper School Cell Phone Policy

Middle School students are required to keep cell phones in their locker during the academic day.

We believe all clothing has a time and place, and, in turn, that our dress code reflects what is appropriate for schools in general and our school in particular. During the academic day, students should be dressed and groomed in a manner that is clean, neat and appropriate for our academic context.

Dress Code Policy  

Campus Access: We will alert you to important traffic changes along Loop 360 that may affect your commute throughout the year. All drivers should enter and exit the St. Stephen’s campus from the main entry gate on Westlake Drive. The Rob Roy and Bunny Run entries are not authorized campus access points. 

Front Gate Arms: The inbound/outbound arms at the security booth are designed to lower between each vehicle. Please allow adequate distance between you and the driver in front of you for the gate to work properly. 

Campus Speed Limit: Please adhere to our 25 mph speed limit entering campus ahead of the iron gate and 15 mph speed limit throughout the remainder of campus. Solar speed limit signs are installed as a reminder to slow down if you are speeding. 

Stop Signs: It is important that all motorized vehicles come to a complete stop at all stop signs to ensure safe passage. Vehicles traveling up the hill to campus should do so slowly to watch for pedestrians in the crosswalks. Pedestrians have the right-of-way throughout the campus.   

Hands-Free Zone: The St. Stephen's campus is considered a hands-free technology zone. Texas Law prohibits drivers from using handheld devices while operating a motor vehicle, unless they are using hands-free technology.

We are excited to offer the Spartan bus route for the 2026-27 school year. Spots are reserved in the order received. Please submit your application by July 31, 2026. Our transportation department will confirm spots by August 8.

Pricing for a one-way rider is $ $1,625 or $3,250 for a round trip. There is a $100 discount each way for families who have multiple riders. More precise drop off and pick up times will be finalized during the first two weeks of school as we learn more about the traffic patterns. Please see the approximate schedule below as a reference:

New as of 6/17/26:

All St. Stephen’s families must request a new parking sticker to display on their vehicle windshield for the 2026-27 academic year.

Your parking sticker(s) will be ready for pickup at the St. Stephen's Welcome Center (located next to the campus entrance) within three business days of your request. Parents are also welcome to pick them up at the PA Back-to-School Event.

Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:45 p.m. All parents should drop-off and pick-up students at the top of The Hill next to the Admission Office or in the Clayton Gym circle drive, located outside Clayton and Spartan Gyms. 

The SSES Security team helps direct traffic during prime pick-up and drop-off times.

Road construction is ongoing along Loop 360 and at the Westlake Drive intersection near campus. Please plan ahead and give yourself extra time and patience when traveling to and from campus. Learn more about the Loop 360 project.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 3, our Online Bookstore will open for the 2026–27 school year. Order early as we are offering free shipping Aug. 3 through Aug. 14. After that time, all orders will be charged standard UPS shipping rates.

3. Enter the authentication code Spartans2026. This security step is required for parents/guardians to enter the eCommerce portion of the site. This further safeguards and protects the privacy of children when using the online store as set forth by COPPA, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998.
4. Log into your account if you have previously used this site; if you are new to the site, you will need to create an account as a New Customer
5. Click the Menu tab on the right
6. Select ‘Order Your Materials’
7. Select 2026-27 School Year
8. Use the drop-down menu to select the Department and Course Level (MS or US)
9. Select Course
10. Complete the order
